Kitty Oakshott set up Upstairs Downstairs Interiors, Long Street, Sherborne in 2012. As an interior designer, she has over twenty years of experience having run businesses in both London and Dorset. Kitty works with a brilliant team of makers and craftspeople to bring you bespoke and made to measure interiors. Kitty or one of her team will visit your home or business to discuss your interior ideas. They will assist you on your choices and guide you through the hundreds of fabrics and wallpapers available at the shop.

Bespoke Furniture - from headboards and footstools to sofas and chairs our team of craftsmen can create bespoke furniture to suit you - choose your design style and fabrics and let us do the rest - pop in to the shop to see some of the bespoke furniture we have made. Or send us a picture of inspiration and we cant let you know what we can do, no job is too small!

Upholstery - We offer a full strip and re-upholster service. Re-cover a favourite old chair in a new fabric to give it a new lease of life - send us a picture of your item of furniture with rough measurements too and we will provide you with a detailed quote. Loose Covers - Choose a new fabric to give your old sofa or chair a new look - again email a photograph and rough measurements to info@updowninteriors.co.uk and we will provide you with a detailed estimate. Loose covers are great as they are removable for cleaning so very practical for those with children or pets!

Curtains - We can make bespoke curtains in one of the many fabrics stocked in the shop, or in fabric supplied by the customer. As standard all our curtains are fully lined and interlined with a choice of headings - all made to measure to suit your requirements.

In our upstairs showroom you will see our huge range of fabric and wallpaper, from hundreds of different suppliers. You will also find examples of our blinds, curtains, soft furnishings and bespoke furniture. Downstairs you will find a forever changing range of items - furniture from sofas to cabinets, gifts, candles, lamps and lampshades, cushions, throws and much more! It is definitely worth a look!
