Replacement tiled roof systems for conservatories and sun rooms. Do you wish to construct an insulated tiled roof onto your existing conservatory structure? Transform your glazed conservatory by replacing old polycarbonate or tired glass sealed units with A-rated low ‘E' glazing. Heat reflective active easi-clean thermally insulated roof panels offer a popular alternative. These are available with many different colours and provide complete protection from heat in the summer, whilst offering very high thermal insulation qualities.
A garage conversion is a great way of adding a luxurious conservatory to your home. Here at David Fennings Conservatories we can provide everything you need from assistance with planning permission, designing and converting your garage and even the cane furniture to furnish it with when complete.
We were delighted to construct stainless steel and toughened glass panels providing a screen for clear views into the Winner's Enclosure. Specially designed Architectural Aluminium Sliding Doors for one of the prestigious boxes, a glazed structure at the racecourse entrance and a specially designed conservatory on a property within the grounds. This high specification Architectural Aluminium conservatory is constructed within the grounds of Poole Hospital for Costa Coffee. It provides a very light bright attractive area for residents and staff.
Expectations for conservatories have been changing considerably over the past 25 years. Some people wish to take advantage of modern glazing systems to grow more exotic plants, but most wish to create a light bright atmosphere using modern technology to provide a full dwelling room within which they may comfortably relax at any time of the day throughout the year. These glazed extensions should perhaps be referred to as Garden Sun Rooms. You may choose to have one which is fully glazed; with a part tiled roof with Velux Windows, or perhaps a glazed Lantern.
The system we offer comes with a 30 year guarantee, as it is constructed with GRP rather than timber which can be subject to potential rotting. It is half the weight of many similar tiled roofs and extremely thermally efficient. The tiles will be Tapco which also have a substantial guarantee, as well as being lightweight, rather than heavy clay tiles. Their appearance is much more attractive than metal tiles offered by some roofing systems. This system comes with full certification covering your responsibilities with regards to Building Regulations, which are most certainly required when you are changing a translucent roof to one which is tiled - this will of course be required if you are selling your home.
Many manufacturers will make outrageous claims with regards to security - in reality a would be intruder will be attempting to gain entry from a small side window or door! A basic PVCu conservatory door with a letter box and fully glazed can be purchased at a very low price - at the other end of the scale, a solid hardwood oak door will cost thousands rather than hundreds of pounds. The materials you have chosen for your new conservatory door need not necessarily be the same materials used for your windows.
It was necessary to satisfy the local Planning Authorities and Conservation Officer in relation to Conservation Area Requirements and not least of all, our customer's ultimate wishes. As often happens with older properties, individual wishes for all concerned may vary and therefore it be-falls ourselves, as the construction company, to liaise with all concerned to achieve the very best overall agreement. Building Regulations not only embraces Health & Safety but all structural considerations, materials and their specifications, appropriate lead flashing and weather proofed roof pitches together with drainage and plus not least of all, thermal efficiency.
The revolutionary LEKA Warm Roof System from David Fenning's Sunrooms has been professionally designed to create a stunning garden Room which can be comfortably enjoyed during our Four Seasons. Unlike conventional conservatory roofing which creates a heat trap in the summer and can be cold in the winter, the LEKA warm roof enables your room to maintain an ambient temperature all year round. The combination of the LEKA roof and A rated glass offers an overall U-Value of 0.15 making it one the best heat insulators of its kind too.
Manufactured to the highest calibre and thoroughly tested to beyond industry standards, our energy efficient fibreglass composite doors provide excellent thermal and sound insulation. The strength comes from the construction of the sub-frame in solid, water-resistant polymer material, reinforced with Laminated Veneer Lumber (LVL). The depression moulded GRP skins, giving the authentic timber look, are then bonded to this sub-frame and the core filled with high density, 100% CFC-free polyurethane foam.
The original definition of an Orangery was a warm and protected place where orange trees could be cultivated and protected. Orangeries have a fascinating history dating back some 2,000 years. It is believed that one of the first greenhouses was built for the Roman Emperor Tiberius, who wished to grow cucumbers, even during the cool Italian winters. When power and wealth moved further North in the late Middle Ages it activated greenhouses spreading throughout Europe, particularly with British and Dutch botanists who wished to grow tropical plants in our cooler climates.
Here at David Fennings Conservatories we have a very generous reward scheme. As a very high percentage of our new projects, come as a result of recommendation, it is entirely appropriate that we thank those who put our company forward. We are pleased to offer a day's sailing for two, a hot air balloon ride, a meal with wine for two people, kite boarding lessons, a special session by a leading chartered physiotherapist, a weekend break for two, a case of wine, dinghy sailing lessons, website design package and guidance, horse riding lessons and a very wide range of appropriate other rewards which we are more than happy to offer for the numerous past customers who kindly recommend our services.
Yes, if - Your conservatory should be at ground level, smaller than 30 sq metres of floor area, have a glass or translucent roof and be separated from the main property with appropriate doors for exemption. At least half of the new walls and three quarters of the roof should be glazed. You would however be most unwise to proceed and not comply with the principal requirements of Building Regulations, thus ensuring that your building was structural sound, built on secure foundations and with correct lead flashing plus of course drainage.
There are companies which like things to be easy - and those who enjoy a bit of a challenge! You could say that David Fennings Conservatories belongs in the latter category - because while the Dorset-based business happily deals with standard budget models welcoming all enquiries, their experienced team really enjoys tackling ambitious, demanding projects - the bigger the better. One recent challenge was a two storey project: a hardwood conservatory constructed onto a home that although modern, had been designed with all the traditional features of a farmhouse/barn.

With over 30 years in the conservatory industry, our in depth knowledge of numerous different systems makes us especially able to repair the numerous defects from which many badly designed or constructed conservatories unfortunately suffer. Repairs involve leaking conservatories often through ‘cheap' roof systems. This can be through poor overall design and inadequate lead flashing where the conservatory abuts a house wall, or general deterioration. Our service extends to underpinning bases which have moved due to subsidence, or inadequate foundations and re-designing the drainage system, which often may have contributed to this.
We provide numerous other services. Projects include Open Plan Sun Rooms and Home Extensions. An extensive range of Window and Door Systems with Hardwood, Architectural Aluminium or Quality PVC.Lighting, Heating, Plastering with internal decoration, Tiling or Timber Flooring and Solar Blinds, plus cane furniture. All works are covered by a comprehensive public liability insurance. Based in the heart of Dorset, we cover all surrounding counties offering a full Planning & Design Service.
