We provide a full service for fitted furniture, this includes a site visit to measure for the furniture and full installation once the items have been made in the workshop. Past work has included shelf and cupboard units, fitted desks and cabinets, wardrobes and pull-down guest beds. We have also completed whole room fittings for libraries and home studies, many of these have had a painted finish. One recent commission was to panel out a hall, stairs and landing.
At J.M.Designs we have produced many beautiful tables, chairs, desks and other free-standing items of furniture.
The process for commissioning a piece of furniture can be a big decision for many people and so I try to make it as smooth and easy as can be. It starts often with a phone call or visit from you the client, with an inquiry for something to be made. Often after a short conversation, a site or home visit would be suggested. This would be to measure up the room where the furniture is intended for, and to check out any difficulties like electric boxes etc. Also during this visit, timber choices are talked about and provisionally chosen.
9.06am. never too early for coffee and brownies. I my defence I am working outside. Thanks Paul
Just finished these 2 larder cupboards. Painted to match the other kitchen units and all Oak inside, drawers, shelves, wine racks and each has a pullout worktop.
In my 'self isolation' I have finished this set of 6 chairs. In Ash with shaped legs to match the clients existing table.
Just about to head home and spotted this full rainbow over the workshop.
This is one big wardrobe! Took me a few days to fit but all done now. Drawers are in walnut and the doors painted ash. The client designed them to be frameless, at least the plasterer did a good job for me to fit upto.
