Shire originally started the geotechnical service to provide our own engineers with information on site, while the structural surveys were being carried out. This allowed us to offer a reactive, rapid response to our clients as a 'one-stop shop' for Design, Investigation and Construction. We work across all sectors, providing a wide range of geotechnical investigation and consulting services. Our services include soil strength assessments, ground contamination analysis, subsidence investigation, investigation of collapsed retaining walls and land slip, soil condition surveys, tree root analysis, nutrient availability & content, drain surveys (including CCTV) & soakaway testing.

Shire were formed during 1988 in the belief that many clients were dissatisfied with the traditional reactive response of some Engineers. Shire aim to have an active involvement in projects, making recommendations where we see more effective solutions. We have gained a reputation for being 'Thinking Engineers' which has led to varied workload in the Civil, Structural, Highways, Aerospace, Education and Rail sectors.
Shire has been working within the telecommunications industry since 1996, beginning with supporting Orange PCS on the their 2G & 3G roll out and upgrade programme. Since then we have gone on to work with all UK mobile operators in all areas of structural and electrical design. From providing overall project management support through to specialist design advice direct to the operators own design engineers. We can provide design solutions for Macrocell, Microcell and In-build orientated projects.
