William Coates Ltd was formed in 1963 as an Electrical Installation Engineering Contractor. In 1998 the company opened a Mechanical Division, and are now one of the leading Mechanical & Electrical Building Services and Facility Management Contractors in the UK and Ireland. In reaching the milestone of fifty years in business in 2011 Weir & McQuiston as we were formerly known, embarked on an exciting development. To mark the historic milestone of fifty years in business, it was decided that the memory of our founding father Mr William Coates Weir, should be marked in the most tangible way possible; Weir & McQuiston became William Coates Ltd.

In recent years we have been working as a principal contractor on projects, managing both the building as well as the mechanical and electrical services installation. We are able to oversee all aspects of the construction process and our team have a wealth of experience and knowledge of construction management. We have worked closely with large multi-national organisations, local authorities and private sector clients on multimillion-pound building, mechanical and electrical projects throughout the UK and Ireland.

With fifty years of experience behind us, William Coates can undertake electrical projects of any size and any value.
