Mrs Richards had an overgrown, weathered garden at the front of her property and a worn out driveway to the side. She decided to increase the parking space by removing the front garden and replacing it with a lovely new Herringbone Block Paving Drive. First job was to remove the old paving drive and dig out the existing garden, earth and rubble. That completed, we laid a heady duty membrane for weed control and hardcore to create a solid base. With the hardcore compacted, we began laying the sand base and then the block paving.

Tarmac is a very popular surfacing option for sprucing up that tired drive. It combines hard stone with a bitumen compound that binds the stone creating a hard wearing impermeable surface.

Mr Lee had a slabbed driveway that was only suitable for 1 vehicle. He had previously been using the lawn area to park 2 additional vehicles, but this was problematic, especially in the winter months when the ground was soft. The project began with the removal of the existing driveway and a large amount of top soil. The remain soil was then compacted and a heavy duty membrane to form a weed barrier, this also prevents sinking caused by settlement of aggregates into the soil beneath (sub-grade). We then laid sharp sand which was compacted and screen to provide the final bed for the block pavers.

We removed 4 grab lorry loads of soil on this project, so no job is too big or small. The old garden had a retaining wall which was encroaching on the building, so we erected a new wall, leaving plenty of space for the new patio. This project was completed using charcoal grey premium block pavers and black slate to the new garden steps.

Mrs Arnold decided it was time to makeover her old block paving patio with a new design in Indian Sandstone. Our first job was to dig up the old blocks and remove the underlying earth. We then laid a heavy duty weed control membrane and type one hardcore to create a nice solid base foundation. With the hardcore down, we moved onto laying the sand cement base mix ready to take the new Natural Stone Slabs. We also installed a retaining wall made up of sleepers cut to size and created a set of steps down into the main garden.

Mr & Mrs Shortt had a very old and tired driveway featuring a very large number of paving slabs. They wanted to replace this with a new block paving driveway with central featuring comprising of squares and the house number - 1D. Our first task was to remove the old driveway and prepare a new hardcore sub-base to allow for the installation of block pavers and new tarmac to the entrance lane. Once we had excavated to a suitable depth for the new hardcore, we laid a heavy duty membrane and type one hardcore to give a solid base.

We have been busy as ever in lockdown installing stunning new patios and driveways throughout Nottingham, Loughborough and the surrounding areas. This Indian Sandstone patio was completed in Hucknall in Nottinghamshire from an old uneven garden area that needed some landscaping loving. Installed new path edgings to separate garden from patio, laid new eco drain systems to collect all rain water. We install our sandstone patios on a full bed of concrete throughout this prevents the chances of any movement and weeds.

Another lovely transformation to this stunning house refurbishment was the front and side block paving install, look at the tarmac with block paving edging to the side of the home and the block paving to the front. This was a joy to work on and our customers loved it! We removed the old gravel driveway & laid type one hardcore for foundation to ensure a good solid foundation. We then laid quality membrane to control the weeds so they won't grow through the block paving. Screened with sharp sand.

Mr Smith existing driveway was a combination of worn out tarmac and grassy area in need of some tidying. The old drive was uneven and unsightly. Mr Smith wanted a new fresh, block paved driveway, that would last a long time, be resistant to the weather and weeds. Block paving was the perfect choice.
