Certainly looks less disruptive than the door screen method. Wondering if this could lead to cheaper testing.
First proper winter test of how the house performs after a few days of sub-zero temperatures. Minus 5 outside, air coming back from the house at 19 but stale air being dumped outside at 2 degrees - so basically we're reclaiming 17 degrees from the stale air meaning that heat input needed is.
Classic example of partial shading (by snow in this case) of PV modules causing a disproportionat e drop off in power (and energy) output. This is the module level monitoring from our Enphase Energy inverters. The 3 modules top right have no snow on them but others still have a narrow band of snow.
A realisation this evening that for energy (lighting, heating, cooking, hot water, appliances etc) the house is costing us about minus 11 / month to run - yes. minus. That's just looking at all energy costs and subtracting FIT payments for solar PV generation and deemed export. That's averaged over the 18 months we've been living in the house. Not accounting for water yet until we get more stable readings.
A new phase begins as "Ruby", our neighbour's caravan in which we spent an "adventurous" 5 months through the winter of 15/16 is finally removed from site revealing new views of and from the house. Let the landscaping commence!
