The company formed in 2008 as AB Architects and changed to Limited Company status in 2014 now trading as A:B Studio Chartered Architects Ltd. AyeWood Ltd have been working with A:B Studio Architects for several years and, as many tradesmen will tell you, you are only as good as your last job. All Colin's jobs are carried out to the highest quality standard possible, he cares about what he does and the result is obvious in the finished result. Colin's rates are slightly less than the going rate but he gives you so much more than you would normally get for the going rate.

The Director, Colin Thompson BSc (Hons) PgDip RIAS RIBA has been a fully qualified chartered architect since 1998, is registered with The Architects Registration Board and is a member of The Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA), The Royal Incorporation of Architects in Scotland (RIAS), The Green Register of Construction Professionals and The Association of Self Build Architects. The practice was formed in 2008 with the aim of delivering beautiful, functional and appropriate buildings combined with a high level of professional service and professional ethics.

As specialists in sustainable design we are able to offer advice if required on a variety of measures to reduce carbon emissions from the building once complete, use of resources during construction, and relative embodied energy of building materials. Obviously as more is spent on sustainable design features the carbon footprint can be reduced further, at the extreme end with the possibility of carbon-neutral buildings with little or no heating requirements.
