Get 3 Free QuotesThe Garden Centre stocks an excellent range of seasonal plants to keep your garden looking wonderful all year around. The skills and expertise of the Hadlow College horticulture students mean that some of the plants for sale have been grown in the College nursery on-site. A wide range of associated products, such as pots, tools and composts are also available, alongside a fabulous range of giftware to suit all occasions. Some of this has been locally sourced from artists and the Hadlow Pottery. Set in the peaceful picturesque Kent countryside, Broadview Gardens are divided into individually themed areas, each one focusing on a particular style of planting structure, which will give you all the inspiration you need for your own garden.
The Garden Centre was once a Nursery growing its own bedding plants, both winter and summer along with chrysanthemums, which mostly went to market. When the Nursery was taken over in 1981, by the current family (owners), they had plans to develop the site into a Garden Centre and to offer a much wider range of plants, compost, pots and fertilizers. The chrysanthemum were beautiful large blooms, the size of dinner plates, and Hawley Nursery was well known for them. When we took over in 1981, we continued to grow chrysanthemums.
Pleasant View Garden Centre was established in 1970 as a small shop and nursery in Chart Sutton on the outskirts of Maidstone. We are a friendly family run business who enjoy providing a warm welcome to old and new customer alike. Over the years we have expanded and we now incorporate a Garden Machinery department along side our larger Garden Centre. We have also come to understand that customers expect more from a Garden Centre today and so we have also added to our site 'the coffee shop, 'Birchalls The Riding Shop' and 'Chart Sutton Antiques Centre' giving the customer much more of a 'shopping experience'.We have gained an enviable reputation for quality, choice and service.

Our Company started in Chislehurst in 1913. Seventeen year old Arthur Cooling, (the Grandfather of Paul Cooling), started growing market garden crops as a part-time occupation. He purchased one acre of land at the rear of Chislehurst High Street in 1920 and it was here that the first second-hand greenhouses were built. In 1955 Michael joined his father Arthur to form the partnership trading as Coolings Nurseries. The first Garden Centre trading commenced in the same year with the sale of fertilisers, insecticides, peat & compost.
