Pleasant View Garden Centre was established in 1970 as a small shop and nursery in Chart Sutton on the outskirts of Maidstone. We are a friendly family run business who enjoy providing a warm welcome to old and new customer alike. Over the years we have expanded and we now incorporate a Garden Machinery department along side our larger Garden Centre. We have also come to understand that customers expect more from a Garden Centre today and so we have also added to our site 'the coffee shop, 'Birchalls The Riding Shop' and 'Chart Sutton Antiques Centre' giving the customer much more of a 'shopping experience'.We have gained an enviable reputation for quality, choice and service.

Ray is the owner and manager of Pleasant View Garden Centre. With over 25 years of experience he has a wealth of knowledge when it comes to gardening. Whether it's finding the right gardening product for you, discussing landscaping queries or just deciding which plants will go best in your garden, Ray is the man to ask! Dom is the youngest member of our team, what he lacks in years, he makes up for in enthusiasm and hard work. He is gaining skills and confidence as he goes and customers can always expect 'service with a smile'.

Where we have over 20 experienced dealers offering a wide range of high quality antique, vintage and retro English and French furniture together with an abundance of small antiques and collectables. Come and visit our showroom and discover for your self all of the hidden antique gems that we have on offer at very reasonable prices. We offer a friendly and professional service and you are welcome amongst an abundance of artefacts and treasures from a bygone era. If you are thinking of selling your own valuables, with so many experienced dealers to call on we can offer advice and guidance on how much they may be worth so that you can make an informed decision before parting with them.

Ray became the owner and during this time Pleasant View Garden Centre has expanded and blossomed into the Garden Centre you see today. The shop was transferred to the large greenhouses formerly used for growing allowing for a more varied and extensive range of products. Their son Ray opened a metal welding service on the same site, however, having spent his early years in and out of the Garden Centre, he soon realised that his true calling was in the Garden industry. Birchalls the Riding Shop moved from it's old premises in Langley to Pleasant View Garden Centre.

Birchalls the Riding Shop is a Maidstone based family run tack shop, first established in 1897 so boasts over 115 years of experience in the equestrian trade, one of the oldest in the country. From bridles to bandages and forks to fly rugs, Birchalls has something to suit every horse and pony. At Birchalls the Riding Shop we pride ourselves on our personal service from friendly experienced staff. Our staff are fully trained to offer expert advice to those new to the sport through to the more advanced rider, they are fully trained in hat and body protector fitting.

We visited here today for the first time, and were really impressed. What a lovely place - great selection of plants, friendly and helpful advice from the staff. Rounded off with a very nice lunch at the tea room, and an enjoyable browse around the adjacent Antiques centre. We would definitely recommend a visit, and we'll be back soon!
