At KJM Windows & Conservatories, we pride ourselves on our no hassle, no pressure approach to providing high quality home improvement products to the thousands of customers who have put their trust in us since 1982.
KJM was formed in 1982, taking its name from the three founding directors Ken Hammant, John Creasey and Mick Burrell. Since it's inception KJM have won many awards for customer service. Originally manufacturing our own windows on West Portway Industrial Estate in Andover, the company concentrated on uPVC windows as we were unable to manufacture anything else. In these early years, KJM won some substantial commercial contracts - the most notable being from Winchester City Council for whom we manufactured and installed hundreds of windows.
The Ultraframe Pergola patio cover is designed to offer protection from the elements, enabling you to enjoy the great British outdoors all year round. It is available in grey or white powder coated aluminium, so will compliment most house designs. The glazed pergola is a garden building designed for outdoor use. Its roof is glazed and supported by posts, which means it provides shelter from rain and wind - allowing you to relax in your garden, whatever the weather might bring. A pergola, therefore, has a dual function that enables it to respond to differing requirements.
Our Venetian blind system is perfect for window, doors and conservatories, as they can provide both privacy and shade to your home. They are operated by a magnetic slider on the edge of the glass with sliding controls for the vertical and tilt movement. Our Integral Blinds in double glazing are also known as interstitial blinds or integrated blinds are high quality aluminium Venetian blinds in between two panes of toughened low e glass that form a double glazed sealed unit. The idea of integrating blinds into double glazing has become really popular.
KJM in Andover Hampshire can now offer 44mm triple glazed units for the very best in heat insulation in your triple glazed windows. Using Planitherm soft coat (x2) and low iron glass, argon filled with Swisspacer Ultimate warm edge spacer the glass achieves a U-value of 0.62 and combined with our 70mm Veka system, will give a whole window U Value of 0.8. New to our range is the Residence 9 and Residence 7 44mm triple-glazed flush casement window. If you are thinking about replacing your windows and/or doors, then you should consider KJM's range of triple glazing.
Noise intrusion into the home is a common problem if you live close to busy roads, railway lines, under flights paths or near industrial units and windows tend to be the weakest point of sound insulation in the home. Unlike walls and ceilings, which block and absorb sound waves, windows (glass) allow more sound vibrations to pass through and enter the home. The most common and invasive noises are high-frequency sounds, so how do we reduce this and increase the sound proofing of your glazing? To reduce the amount of sound that comes through the window, you must improve the barrier between the actual sound and your ear.
Older conservatories may have been installed with polycarbonate, or glass that's not thermally efficient. A replacement conservatory roof can transform your conservatory. Modern glazing is so much more efficient, in fact our reception at our showroom is a conservatory, we feel confident that whatever time of year you come to our showroom, you can see and feel the benefits of 21st century glazing. KJM from Andover in Hampshire have the solution to your problem. It is often possible just to change the roof panels, as technology has progressed over the years, you can have much better insulation from polycarbonate, today's panels are up-to 40mm thick and come in a variety of shades.
As a minimum all uPVC products should be cleaned twice a year with warm, soapy water. Non-abrasive cloths should be used and you should never use abrasive cleaners. Horizontal surfaces (like the external cills) will be the first to show when they require cleaning, just wipe over with warm soapy water. Conservatory roofs should be cleaned in the same way as above, however you should never walk on conservatory roofs, they are not designed to take this weight. You can purchase extended reach poles to aid cleaning or employ a specialist roof cleaning contractor.
The Lantern conservatory style was the original conservatory style when they were known as orangeries. For those with the right budget, a lantern roof makes a fantastic statement of grandeur and elegance. We can offer the Ultraframe Ultrasky roof lantern in white, grey or black, we also can offer a 44m triple glazed all aluminium option and a standard uPVC capped aluminium system. You can visit our showroom in Andover Hampshire for further information and to view the roof. Our stunning range of roof lanterns can be a beautiful addition to any flat roof or extension, adding natural light and volume to the room below.
Traditional homes require traditional windows and Hampshire based KJM's vertical sliding sash windows perfectly suit Victorian style homes, many different types of older homes and indeed some modern homes too. We can install timber and uPVC versions and the results can look stunning with either system. Our sash windows of choice are manufactured from Veka profiles or new for 2017 the Ultimate Rose Collection that are manufactured from uPVC. We also offer a timber sliding sash from our Dempsey Dyer range.
Look around and you will see the most popular choice of window replacement style is the casement, thanks to its ease of use, simplicity and all-round versatility of design. There are different profle choices that change the look of your windows. Another thing to consider is the energy rating - double glazing and triple glazing are available in most systems. Put simply, it has hinged opening sections (lights) along with fixed panes, giving you the look that is familiar in conventional timber windows combined with all the long life, low-maintenance and enhanced warmth and security of modern uPVC frames.
KJM based in Andover, Hampshire have a full time service engineer that can assess any problem you may have with your existing double glazing. You don't always need to replace your windows, double glazed windows and doors can be repaired and sealed units changed. Two of our sales team also have a practical knowledge, because of their initial fitting background. Quotations are free of charge and without obligation. We also offer a supply only service for glass sealed units, handles and letter boxes.
The Livin room (Living room conservatory) is a cheaper alternative to an Orangery, it combines the best of both worlds, the light and sky of a conservatory with the walls and ceiling of an extension. Browse through the photos below to see the stunning results that can be achieved. We have one installed as our main reception area in our showroom in Andover Hampshire, if you would like to see one. The basic principle of the Livin Room conservatory is to design in brick piers, creating taller windows and to add a plastered internal perimeter that can house down-lighters.
Conservatories have always been an excellent way for you to blur the margin between home and garden, but this idea has been taken to a new level with the Ultraframe Veranda conservatory. The glazing bars in the roof oversail and carry the glass with it, to form a protected pocket where the consumer can sit in the garden but be protected from the worst of the elements. Moreover, on a warm day - by using large in line sliders or bi-folds - you have a much bigger space to enjoy, perfect for families!
The Victorian conservatory is the most popular style of conservatory. That's because the Victorian conservatory suits all house styles - be they period property or a more modern property. The Victorian conservatory springs most readily to mind when people think of conservatory styles. The Victorian conservatory style includes a bay front, a steeply pitched roof and ornate ridge details, although we install plenty with ball finials and low profile crestings nowadays. Originally just made from timber these days, of course, your Victorian conservatory can be made out of modern materials such as PVCu and aluminium or traditional hardwood.
Welcome to our conservatory page, we offer a comprehensive range of conservatories to suit the style of your home and your budget. KJM in Andover Hampshire can create something much better than a "plain white box" for your new light and living space. Established in 2007, VEKA Recycling is thought to be the biggest initiative of its kind in the UK. As part of the worldwide VEKA Recycling Group, our work in the UK is complemented by our parent company VEKA Umwelttechnik in Germany and French sister company VEKA Recycling.
We are confident about our costs. At KJM you will not see a "buy one get one free" offer or "50% off". However I am sure that most people are aware that these offers are often not what they seem, it is not uncommon to get a quotation from certain companies and find the starting price for an average house full of windows, can be £16,000 to £20,000 before these massive discounts are applied. This process is normally applied with "High Pressure Selling". None of these techniques are used by KJM sales staff.

Whether you requirements are timber, aluminium or uPVC we are here to help you. The photo on the left shows a conservatory for a Japanese garden that was constructed in London, the unusual design shows a chain down pipe system and a sloping (non vertical front). Secondary glazing is a great way to enjoy warmth, security and quietness of double glazing without replacing your existing windows. Secondary glazing will reduce sound transmission by up to 70% and improve your heat insulation. Secondary glazing is ideal to reduce noise and draughts. Many of our designs (especially our triple-track system) can incorporate a fly-screen - allowing you to leave your windows open at night during the summer. Secondary glazing is particularly useful when replacement windows are not suitable for your property and is ideal for homes that are traditional, listed buildings, in conservation areas or just don't need replacing.
