As can be seen from the images, the barn had been derelict for some time prior to being bought by a local property developer. This home renovation required a complete rip out, followed by a full electrical re-wire, replacement plumbing, pipework, boiler and bathroom suite. All walls and ceilings were re-plastered and a new kitchen was installed. Internet connections have been located throughout the house.

Over time, flat roofs will be affected by the elements. The sun dries the flat roof out and cracks emerge in the roofing felt. Over time, water coming through the cracks in the roofing felt perishes the roofing timbers. This can then result in leaks into the ceiling. To repair a flat roof we will strip off the old roofing felt and inspect the joists. They are usually fine if we have caught the deterioration in the roof felt soon enough, but if necessary we will replace the roofing joists. We then install new sheathing ply and then apply the new bitumen roof felt.
