Solar photovoltaic (PV) is the creation of electricity from light, while solar thermal is all about heating water. A PV system will silently send free electricity to your consumer unit to be used in the same building, or exported. Solar power is a renewable energy source which is contributing to a fundamental change in our relationship with energy, as we begin to move from the monopoly of old centralised power to an exciting new world of micro-generation.
Solstice Energy was established in 2003, and since then has developed an impressive list of high quality solar PV installations. After starting out with mainly domestic and community projects, these days approximately 90% of the work we do is repeat custom for construction and M&E companies who value our no-nonsense and positive approach. We pride ourselves on sticking to agreed timescales and prices, and finding solutions to what may look like a difficult situation. We are certified under the Micro-generation Certification Scheme, and are approved electrical contractors with the NICEIC, and so able to self-certify and notify building control under Part P regulations.
Domestic PV systems normally range between 1 and 4kWp, generating 850 to 3400kWh / year, requiring 7 to 29m2 of PV array, and costing between £4000 and £10,000 (inclusive of 5% VAT). Our domestic installations usually take no more than 4 days, and have always been on budget. We pride ourselves on producing excellent work while minimising disruption to our customers and taking good care of carpets and decoration. From initial estimate to post-installation, Solstice Energy will provide comprehensive information including professional design drawings for planning applications.
Whether you are aiming for 10% on-site renewables generation to comply with local authority rules on new developments, insulation against rising energy prices or improving your company's image, solar PV offers a long-term and maintenance-free way of achieving results. Solstice Energy's engineers will design a system within a budget or to meet your CO2 / kWh output requirements. Design drawings are professional, and wind-loading calculations will be carried out where necessary. Our commercial clients have the peace of mind of dealing with an experienced, highly trained and safety conscious company.
