For the past 30 years we have traded in Forestry, Tree Surgery & Firewood, making our name tackling the more difficult jobs, but not forgetting the smaller (what we call Bread & Butter) work. We now also supply chestnut fencing for trade and private use. We are a well-established firm, supplying an excellent, second to none Forestry service. We have a growing timber business supplying sawn timber to the building trade and for private use, for example oak beams, cladding and carcasse timber. We are very much a family business (based near Witham, Essex) where we sell logs, mulch, kindling and sawn timber from the yard gate.
Forestry plays a major part in the company; for many years we have managed woodlands for a variety of different reasons. We cut low value coppice timber for firewood, selecting better value hardwood saw logs for milling. We also thin coniferous woodland for stakes and rails, again selecting larger trees for sawmilling. In recent years we have been milling timber which has come from tree surgery and coppicing operations, therefore making use of low value timber that would be too time consuming to cut into firewood.
