Whatever your landscaping requirements, whether it is a complete garden makeover, a blank canvas, a garden for a new-build house or a one-off bespoke project within an already established garden, Creating Eden is your natural choice. Our geographic area covers, but is not limited to, Fife, Perthshire, Stirling, Tayside, Edinburgh and Lothian. We have the skills, knowledge, expertise, and capacity to undertake all aspects of landscaping. Please spend a few moments browsing our website to get a flavour of the variety and scope of work we undertake, the quality of the finished product and the transformations in the before and after photos.
At Creating Eden we lay a lot of patios in all shapes, sizes and levels. From a simple but functional concrete slab patio to the much more decorative Indian sandstone patio the key to any well laid patio is the correct preparation. Laid on a suitable sub base a patio laid on a wet mortar bed will not move or settle. Patios can greatly enhance and extend the outside living space - think of a patio as an outside room, a space to sit, relax, have a drink or meal and enjoy the garden. If a client's budget permits I always recommend using Indian sandstone as a patio material of choice.
For most gardens and gardeners there is still nothing to match that lush green swathe. A well laid, cared for lawn will set off planting schemes and hard landscaping features. In addition for clients with children, a hard wearing lawn will give that all important space to set up the goal posts. We lay turf sourced from a Fife-based turf supplier either as a utility hard wearing grass or for that special look a very fine bladed ornamental turf. With all turf installations, I leave a handout detailing the aftercare needed to keep your grass looking at its best.
At Creating Eden we regularly use reclaimed stone to build walls and other hard landscaping features within a garden. Not only does using reclaimed stone allow another use for the stone but it is also unique in its shapes and sizes. Especially with older properties, the use of natural stone allows new features to blend seamlessly with the house or existing features within the garden. In addition to building new walls in stone, Creating Eden can repair fallen or damaged walls and repoint walls (with lime mortar if required) on a maintenance basis.
I do not claim to be a qualified garden designer. Although, I will if required draw up a plan of a garden to give potential clients an idea of a proposed layout. That said I do have an eye for what will work, is feasible and buildable in a garden space and my input often helps to formulate a full design. I am fortunate to be entrusted to build gardens for some of Scotland's leading garden designers who are often the most discerning of clients in that they have a vision on paper of how they want the garden to look, know how the garden should be built and naturally want to hand over to their client a garden built and planted to the highest standards.
There is a huge variation in the types of fencing and screening available depending on the client's requirements. At its simplest form it can just indicate a boundary line. More substantial fencing can provide complete privacy, act as a wind break or could be a security measure. Decorative trellis and panels come in a variety of styles and sizes to cater for all tastes. We have even installed mirrored trellis which creates a wow factor, reflects light and can give a visual illusion of greater space within a garden.
