Low Energy Designs are a leading LED lighting manufacturer based in the UK who offer technically advanced, effective and energy efficient products and are well placed at the forefront of alternative power and energy saving solutions. Our low energy lighting solutions and LED lighting products use the highest specification LEDs available in the current market. The rise of renewable energy generation has created an increasing demand for efficient ways to store surplus energy. As centralised generation is increasingly supplemented or even replaced by distributed generating centres, the need for local storage and distribution will continue to increase.
Low Energy Designs Ltd was founded and began trading in 2007. The company was originally formed by the directors of Cobracomms Ltd and Barnett Engineering Ltd. These two engineering companies had worked together for a number of years delivering mobile telecommunication and power solutions to the developing cellular markets of the world. In early 2007, the companies were challenged by an existing client located in rural Africa to provide security lighting for the perimeter fences of his remotely located cell sites which had a primary power source of 48 Volts DC.
Until about 200 years ago, people spent 90% of their waking hours outdoors. Today people spend 90% of their time indoors with electric lighting. For human well-being, it is therefore important to try and imitate natural light in our work and home environments. Replacing old lighting to modern technology is not just about bringing down electricity bills. The gains are much larger than that - Lighting influences how people feel and function. The right light in our work environments makes us motivated and more alert so we can do a better job while our well-being increases.
Lighting influences how people feel and function which can have a huge impact on the decisions they make when shopping for a product or service. A range of our LED panels and downlights have the ability to change colour temperature from 3000 to 5300 Kelvin's via a simple wall switch or hand remote. Colour temperature change helps create a unique display which is essential to delivering a memorable retail experience.
Lighting can account for up to 80% of a warehouse's energy bill. Installing LED lighting can provide a low cost way to cut back on your company energy bills and also maintain current environmental standards. Adapting our LED solutions to suit the customer's requirements is something we're best at. By providing various optical outputs to direct the light precisely where it is needed and incorporating intelligent controls, like presence detection means we can provide industrial LED lighting for unique, retrofit and bespoke projects.
