Penetrating dampness can enter a property in various ways including; leaking roofs, defective guttering, entry of water through defective windows, poor pointing, porous brickwork and down chimneys. It can include leaks from plumbing or drainage systems, either inside or outside a building, entry of water through earth retaining walls or into cellars below ground level. In all cases, the solution to penetrating dampness is to eliminate the moisture at the source and allow the area to dry out. Allow our professional damp proofing specialists based in Wallsend to help treat the penetrating damp in your home today.
Tyne Tees Damp Proofing visits countless properties where damp proofing has failed and the contractor / company that carried out the original work has either overlooked something during initial inspection, not carried out work correctly or no longer in business so guarantee cannot be enforced. Only offering a product guarantee where the products are guaranteed, but not the labour / installation. Some companies even use products that are non BBA approved. All of our guarantees include material and labour, and all of our damp proofing products are BBA approved.
A form of fungal decay Wet rot is the generic term that describes timber decaying natural when subject to moisture content above 50%. The most common forms of wet rot encountered specifically to damp proofing or rising damp treatment is joist ends, floor boards or skirting boards in contact with damp wall. During our rising damp treatment once we have removed surface plaster back to brickwork our technicians are trained to observe and report on any timbers that are suffering or likely to suffer from wet rot that can also lead to timber infestation.

Thank you for visiting Tyne Tees Damp Proofing. Having been involved with Damp Proofing and property renovations since 2003, I would like to share with you the basics of effective damp proofing that lasts. The 3 main types of damp are rising damp, penetrating damp and condensation damp, and each warrants a different treatment method. We use BBA approved DPC injection cream when installing chemical damp proof course and use only Newton 3mm membrane for physical barrier. There are cheaper membrane products available however the Newton product is not only 30 % thicker than many cheaper membranes we believe it is far superior in quality which is why the manufacturer guarantee their product for 30 years.
