Minimalist aluminium frames, combined with large sections of full height glazing provides a breathtaking contrast in an otherwise traditional rural setting. The client had a very clear idea of what he wanted to achieve and that clarity is very much a benefit when we are designing something away from traditional norms. The property already had a very modern kitchen, with plenty of brushed aluminium surfaces and clean, simple lines and it was this theme that was required to be reflected in the orangery, which was to provide an integrated dining area to the kitchen.

The client wanted to re-site their kitchen to make it more central to the living space. We removed the bay window and most of the wall surrounding, creating a large open dining space into the new kitchen beyond. The large stretch of sliding / folding doors open fully bringing the garden into the house for summer parties. We recycled much of the brick and stone removed from the original wall to form the walls to the new orangery. We built a smaller orangery to the side to provide a light, bright study for relaxing coffee mornings or after dinner brandies!

If you have already prepared a design and specification for your orangery or conservatory and you are now looking for quotations for your client, you need merely send us copies of scaled drawings along with any specification notes and we will prepare a detailed quotation for you. If we require any supplemental information (such as photos of the property) we will ask you. On the other hand if you prefer for us to undertake the design and specification we can do that. We can take a brief directly from you, or we can visit the site, meet the client and prepare a design proposal and quotation.

The process of getting your orangery or conservatory built usually starts with a telephone conversation in which you tell us what you are seeking to achieve. We will talk about design and material options and we will also try to give you some indication of likely cost. At the end of the conversation, if you wish, we will make an appointment for our designer to visit you at home to discuss the project in greater detail. There is no cost for this consultation. It sounds a bit of a clich but every conservatory and orangery really is unique; designs may be similar in style but each client's requirements and preferences are unique to them.
