If you own or manage an estate or land that includes copses and trees, you will require annual maintenance to ensure the safety of your employees and the public. If you deal with this yourself, this task will require a significant and ongoing investment in specialist equipment and safety training for your staff. You will find it easier and more cost efficient to contract all your arboricultural requirements to our certified arborists, giving you full access to qualified advice and practical support on all aspects of tree care, safety, and health.
Both Jenks Oxford and Jenks Wokingham carry out tree safety assessments, full arboricultural surveys and BS5837:2012 Trees in Relation to Construction reports for planning and construction. Tree owners have a duty of care to ensure they have taken reasonable steps to ensure the safety of their trees. The arboriculturalist should have a suitable level of professional indemnity insurance when providing the tree safety assessment to protect the tree owner against legal claims resulting from errors in assessment.
All our arboriculturalists have professional indemnity insurance to protect tree owners against legal claims resulting from errors in assessment. Please note, however that the insurance will not cover you if you fail to act on recommendations contained in the report. Tree owners have a duty to ensure they have taken reasonable steps to ensure the safety of their trees. Early consultation with someone with knowledge of the planning process, the British Standard and tree physiology is the best way to avoid costly mistakes and delays.
Pruning services are needed throughout a tree's life - for example, pruning trees when they are young (formative pruning) can reduce the need for major pruning in middle age and in maturity. Also, middle-aged and mature trees may need extensive pruning when changing land use. It is also worth considering the removal of trees that need frequent major pruning, replacing them with a more appropriate species. Crown Thin Tree canopies can become incredibly dense with foliage and branches. A crown thin will help to increase light through and into the canopy by removing small branches, thus providing a more even leaf cover and allowing the stronger stems to mature.
After felling, we cut the stumps off neatly as close to ground level as possible. With stumps that are likely to regenerate after felling we use a suitable herbicide to inhibit re-growth. We carry the work out either by grubbing out by hand, with suitable machinery or by using one of our stump grinding machines. We then scan the area around the stump to be ground or dug out by using a cat scan to ascertain whether there are any underground electrical services that may be compromised during the stump removal process.
