Stove owners must remember to have their chimneys swept at least once a year as recommended by HETAS and NACS. Ours installers will give you a run down of the do's and don'ts of using a woodburning stove and chimney sweeping is an important part of the information we give our customers. We have seen chimney liners virtually blocked by tar and bitumen after just 2 years of operation. Our customers are astonished that a this amount of blockage can occur in such a short time. It is also critical that an old chimney is swept before a liner is fitted in order to reduce the risk of a chimney fire when the stove is in use.
Our primary aim when we undertake a woodburner installation is to make sure that the end result is exactly what was expected after the initial consultation and agreed installation plan. We want our customers to enjoy their stove as much as we enjoy ours in our own home and workplace. We don't bamboozle our customers with technical jargon about the installation, but we do explain how a wood burning stove works and how to get the most out of it. We work with our customers to try to meet their needs as closely as possible.
We supply a wide range of wood burning stoves from traditional to modern and we are also quite happy to install stoves that are purchased from an authorise retailer. We avoid dealing with online retailers due to the poor customer service often given. We will gladly assist you in choosing the right model to suit your tastes and needs. We operate throughout the Bristol and Bath area and offer free surveys and consultations. The range of stoves on our website is just a small selection of stoves that we recommend.
Heart is an independent solid fuel heating specialistbased in Montpelier and St Werburghs, Bristol. We are HETAS registered and all our work is certified and signed off by our accredited engineers. We serve a wide are around Bristol and Bath, north into Gloucestershire, south into the Mendips. We supply and install a selective range of wood burning and multi-fuel stoves. We also design and implement whole heating systems based around Heat Stores using boiler stoves and pellet stoves. These system can integrate multiple heat sources including existing gas or oil boilers.
The multi-fuel part simply means that the stove can also burn solid fuel like coke, smokeless briquettes, anthracite or coal. If it is multi-fuel then it will have a grate and typically a riddling mechanism (a way of shaking the ash and embers into the ash pan below the grate). You can often buy a multi-fuel 'kit' for a standard wood burner thus converting it into a multi-fuel stove. If you are going to burn solid fuel then you must understand that it is quite different to wood in the way that it burns.
