Wensley Roofing Ltd is a leading roofing contractor in North East England. The business started in 1987 and has an excellent reputation built on a strong commitment to quality, training and customer service. The company provides a comprehensive range of roofing services including slating, tiling, leadwork, felting and liquid roofing. Work includes new build and refurbishment of domestic, public sector and commercial properties, and renovation and restoration of heritage sites (See also our heritage division - Matthew Charlton Slaters).
Wensley Roofing was set up in 1987. The first business premises were in Washington, but in 1999 Wensley Roofing moved to the site that it still occupies in Chester-le-Street, County Durham. Since it was founded, the business has grown steadily and in 1997 it became a company limited by shares. In 2006 Wensley Roofing became part of the Northern Bear group. We have a permanent workforce of fully qualified slaters, tilers, felt roofers and lead workers. Each working squad consists of a minimum of two men (one of whom will be the team leader).
Slating is considered to be the most skillful of the roofing crafts. At Wensley Roofing we have many teams of qualified slaters. Our slating services include: Green Westmorland slating, Welsh slating, Spanish slating, strip & recover work, and heritage & conservation work (see also our heritage division Matthew Charlton Slaters). Tiling accounts for a very significant proportion of our work. We have regular contracts with most of the major builders of homes in the region. We supply and fix roof tiles from various manufacturers including: Decra, Forticrete, Marley Eternit, Russell, Redland and Wienerberger (Sandtoft).
Very professional and carried out the work promised.
