Freegate Foundry formed in 1969 by the Ashby family, experienced founders stretching over four generations, specialise in original Coalbrookedale designs manufactured from our own individual moulds. All our furniture is hand-finished and assembled with stainless steel fittings for year-round durability.
Aluminium is the most abundant metal found on earth yet, due to the enormous amount of electrical energy required to reduce Bauxite ore to pure aluminium, it was not until the early 1900s that this light (three times lighter than iron), strong and durable metal was successfully manufactured. All our items are electrostatically powder coated with polyester paints and baked in our modern ovens. Most popular colours are dark green, black, white, stone white, lichen (moorland green) and bronze but others are available on request.
It is the busiest we have been for years. Looking forward to a change of management very soon and then we can move forward with a business that has the potential to be very successful.
I am keeping an eye out for someone to work at Freegate foundry as a floor molder. It is only temporary but may lead to permanent. Must be able to get here on own accord. Got to be physically fit as the job is labour intensive. Would prob suit a young person. If you think or know someone who has what it takes message me and I will get back to you. Also a bit of common sense required. Ainsley Ashby
Sorry for no comments for a while. We have been extremely busy and can't make enough of our products at the moment. All this advertising is certainly working. Thanks for all your interest and long may it continue. From the Freegate team.
Apparently our table, chairs and benches delivered to the National Trust are a big hit with visitors, good to hear.
Me after a hard days work at the foundry, how scary do I look! http://t.co/O8oQhnZtIm
Come on @BurnleyOfficial - you can do it!
Looking forward to watching @BurnleyOfficial on sky sports this weekend, hope they beat Blackburn Rovers for the first time in 30 years.
Another busy day, I'm having to work twice as hard this week as we seem to have an employee who struggles to get out of bed in the morning!
I believe Mary Berry likes the Regency garden furniture (which we happen to make at our foundry), tune in to her show tomorrow on bbc2.
At Burnley football match today, come on Burnley!
