At Knottywood, we design and create a collection of unique handmade chunky furniture. Our ever expanding collection is inspired by our love of surfing and the coastal waters of England with the ebb and flow of each new tide. This is reflected in the colour finishes we use from sun bleached pine to the deep seductive colours of saturated drift wood. The Knottywood philosophy is to rediscover the unique soulful character of each piece of timber bringing it back to its former glory, knotts and all.
Our chunky rustic dining tables are carefully handcrafted to emphasise the soulful character of the reclaimed wood we use, creating a unique table every time. The table top is constructed using thick solid planks of locally sourced reclaimed timber which is finished with a high quality wax. The frame and chunky legs are crafted using wood from renewable sources and finished in matchstick cream paint. The tables have removable legs for ease of transport and installation. We offer our tables in a wide range of sizes but we are more than happy to work with you to create bespoke pieces, so just ask!
We finish all our furniture in Fiddes and Sons wax. This high quality and durable wax gives the perfect finish and can be applied at any time to enhance the appearance of your furniture or to maintain the appearance to the same high quality that it left our workshop. Waxes are available in Stripped pine, Medium, Light. Please see our images for colour guides. Our signature range is finished in matchstick which is a warm cream that works well with any colour scheme. We looked for a timeless shade that would bring the natural colours of the timber to life and were inspired by the ever changing coastal shores and dunes.
