SJH Carpets was started by Simon Howell over fifteen years ago, initially working from home and then moving to premises at the top of Wincanton High St before moving to Tythings Commercial Centre. John Calder joined the company soon after Simon moved into the High St and together opened our Tisbury High St shop. Seb Davis joined the two of us in 2007 and together we strive to provide our customers with the best selection of floorcoverings, blinds and shutters available fitted by trained and motivated professionals, This gives you the customer the confidence to entrust your flooring project and money to us.

Over the last five to ten years the British appetite for blinds have moved on from the traditional venetian and rollers that adorned mostly commercial properties. We work with Luxaflex to provide you the customer with the latest designs, technology and safest window coverings available. SJH Carpets offer a full measuring and fitting service and for the more complicated of windows Luxaflex will send out their specialist measuring teams to ensure you receive the best advice and product available in today's fast moving window market.
In recent years technology has enabled vinyl tiles to become the leading choice for all areas throughout the home. Eminently more friendly to live with then ceramic tiles, more forgiving of accidently dropping of cups, plates and heads! Works extremely efficiently with underfloor heating and available in a vast range of textures and colours. We work closely with the market leader Amtico to make sure you receive the best advice, fitting and aftercare you deserve. Amtico produce their product in Britain, one of the very few that do and this ties in with our own ethos of aiming to keep your hard earned money in this country to help all of us.
Our team of fitters are all employed by SJH Carpets, which is an important consideration when looking at who can provide you with your flooring needs. All our team are trained and we continue to train young people through apprenticeship schemes to ensure our fitters have access to the latest methods and skills along with learning from some of the best craftsman in the South West. Fallen in love with the idea of a designer natural fibre? Here at SJH we are suppliers of Crucial Trading, Kersaint Cob and Alternative Flooring, the three brand leaders in the supply of these design inspired floorings. Our fitters are experienced in all the various fibres on offer and we constantly work with the manufacturers to ensure the underlays, grippers and adhesives are the approved and correct products to use with these, at times, cantankerous fibres! We will also make sure you are fully aware of the pitfalls of this group of products also.
