Widely recognised as having the best and most complete product range in the market - Spectus Systems have been installed in millions of properties. We work with contractors, house builders, housing providers, local education authorities, housing associations and healthcare trusts. Any project, any sector, any size. We've been making window and door products from PVC-U since 1981. In a rapidly expanding market, we thrived because of the quality of our manufacturing, the strength of our design and our customer service.

We use our existing Elite 70 and Elite 63 suites in combination with a selection of beads to offer one of the most cost-effective and flexible ways of producing triple-glazed windows. Unlike other suppliers who may use a whole new system, the Spectus method keeps stockholding costs under control, fabrication lines flowing and allows installers to use both double and triple glazing in the same projects. With three bead options, it's possible to offer the exact specification or WER requirement your customer needs and all our beads work with bevelled or ovolo shaped profiles.

Whether it's a warm welcome from a new front-entrance door or a gorgeous bi-fold, a new door can transform your home making it warmer, safer and more stylish. We've made sure that every one of our doors is more than fit for purpose. All styles offer outstanding levels of insulation and security, along with robust build and an attractive appearance. We use our Elite profiles to perfectly complement our window installations and you'll find we've enough choice to suit any home or taste. Beautiful colours, woodgrain finishes and smart door furniture can create doors with real kerb appeal.

Good quality double glazing can be very effective. With advanced glass it's possible to achieve a Window Energy Rating of Band 'A+'. If you want to go further - reduce your energy bills to a minimum, and have an extremely well-insulated home then triple glazing is a good option. Triple glazing works in the same way that double glazing does. A cavity between panes of glass, filled with an inert gas, forms an insulating layer. With triple glazing there are two insulating layers. Triple glazed windows can achieve both exceptional Window Energy Ratings and very low U-values.

For over thirty years, we have been designing and producing window systems of exceptional quality. Our main systems, Elite 70 and Elite 63, are used to make all styles of Casements, Tilt & Turns and Horizontal Pivot windows. For sliding sash windows we have the highly-respected Vertical Slider system and for high-rise or difficult to access locations, the Fully Reversible system. Common across all of our systems is performance. All are designed to be secure with ACPO* Secured by Design approval.

It's easy to transform the look and feel of your home with beautiful French doors. The classic, two-opening-pane styling is very practical. It's ideal for access to the garden or for giving a light, airy and open feel to your home on warm, spring day. These doors can be styled to suit traditional homes with Georgian bars or leaded glass, or can be more contemporary in appearance with bold-coloured frames and modern handles. They can be built to open inwards or outwards, depending on your available space.

Combine security, thermal performance and good looks and you get a winning combination! Spectus patio doors are so popular because they've got it all, and because homes are nicer to live in when there's plenty of natural light. These sliding doors give the benefit of floor to ceiling glass in a very practical design that can be configured to suit your home. Sliding patio doors open without disturbing your furniture - popping outside doesn't have to be a hassle. They're brilliant for making smaller rooms feel much larger and more open, but are equally at home in conservatories, orangeries, garden offices, porches or even as internal room dividers.

Replicating the appearance of a solid-timber door, but with all the benefits of modern low-maintenance materials, composite doors continue to grow in popularity. Sadly, not all composite doors are as good as they could be. Some have door slabs that aren't tough enough to stand the rough and tumble of life as a front entrance door and some are supplied in inferior frames. That's not the way we do things at Spectus. Our doors have a solid foam and timber core, a robust glass reinforced plastic skin, and our highly-accredited frames which match our window styles.

With Spectus, almost any style of conservatory or orangery is possible. When you've made the decision to extend your home, then it's important that you get exactly what you want and that the extension enhances both the appearance and value of your home. Our rigorous quality and design standards result in profiles that are structurally sound, robust and insulating as well as very attractive. With great designs that take into account how you will use your new living space and your site's location you can be sure that your new conservatory or orangery will be a real asset for years to come.

Spectus Tilt & Turn windows have a dual opening action and are available in Elite 70 and Elite 63. The windows are provided with all round locking, internally glazed, open-in, providing good security and weather tightness. The tilt before turn operation provides improved child safety and the ability to carry out internal and external cleaning without the risk, making it practically suitable in high-rise applications. Spectus is a trading name of Specialist Building Products Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Epwin Group Plc.

When you add a Victorian conservatory to your home, you recreate some of the grace of the era. Victorian conservatories are characterised by angled roofs, often with ornate detailing, and a faceted end which projects into your garden. This design works beautifully in all sizes. You can choose a dwarf wall to match your home's building materials, and have your conservatory constructed in almost any colour as well as classic white. Spectus conservatories are built from top-quality components which are easy to maintain.

A versatile and popular choice, Spectus French doors are a great way to increase natural daylight in a home and offer a practical, robust access door. Ideal for residential new-build and refurbishment projects, French doors also add style to balcony access in apartment blocks and provide extra light and ventilation. Spectus French doors can be fabricated using either the Elite 70 or Elite 63 systems, which gives a choice of bevelled, ovolo or chamfered frames and a full choice of colours and finishes to suit any construction project.

Energy-efficient windows and doors don't happen by chance. It's a long process of design, refinement and testing that brings Band 'A' and 'A+' rated windows to the marketplace. We're ready to help you pass on the benefits to your customers. Spectus is a trading name of Specialist Building Products Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Epwin Group Plc.

Spectus bi-folding doors are fabricated using our proven Elite systems and therefore are available in both 70mm depth and 63mm depth format, and with a choice of profile shape to match our window styles. Bi-folding doors maximise the opening and provide a real connection between indoor and outdoor space. In addition, bi-folding doors can be used internally to make effective and practical room dividers. Our bi-folding doors can be configured in almost any layout with up to seven folding leaves and a choice of access door position.

Our main systems, Elite 70 and Elite 63, contain a full range of profiles for the manufacture of a range of doors. These are fully compatible with our window profiles and are available in the same shapes: chamfered, bevelled and ovolo. Residential doors (with and without side screens), French doors, bi-folding doors and ride over patio doors can all be fabricated to match our windows or as standalone projects. In addition, our frames can be combined with 44mm composite door panels. Our door profiles are made from highly impact-resistant PVC-U with multiple chambers for thermal and sound insulation.

Casement Windows are a very familiar style of window, with outwards opening panes hinged at the top or side. Our window systems can be used to make almost any size or shape of casement window with a combination of fixed and opening panes to suit. All of our frames are slim, but very strong, and there's a choice of a classic, bevelled shape or the gentle curve of an ovolo profile. We use impact-resistant PVC-U and multi-chambered sections for insulation. Discreet, permanently-bonded gaskets protect against the weather and multipoint locks provide security for your home.

The graceful style of sash windows is difficult to beat. But timber sashes, particularly old ones, are troublesome and require regular maintenance. The Spectus Vertical Slider has been designed to provide the authentic, period appearance without the drawbacks. It's so good that planning departments have accepted it - even in conservation areas. When we designed our Vertical Slider, we kept the basics: the elegant proportions and the two sliding panes that are so effective for ventilation. After that, we worked on improvements.

Dating from the 19th century, the lantern style conservatory has a stepped, glazed roof. The higher part of the roof is separated from the lower by a row of vertical windows. The overall effect is impressive, with an expansive and open feel. Lantern roofs are superb in large conservatories or orangeries where their extra height adds a feeling of grandeur and luxury. The vertical windows in a lantern roof can be fitted with electrical openers to provide controllable ventilation, which makes them perfect for an orangery-style kitchen or as a house for your own swimming pool.

Spectus flush casement windows mimic the traditional appearance of period properties, whilst offering superb energy efficiency and lower heating bills. They offer the perfect solution for planners in areas protected by conservation orders looking for a flush 'sash' casement that replicates the 19th century timber window design, whilst offering modern features and benefits. The simple lines and proportions also mean it has masses of potential even in more modern buildings. Spectus is a trading name of Specialist Building Products Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Epwin Group Plc.

When the traditional conservatory designs aren't right for your needs or when your property's architecture demands a different approach, a bespoke conservatory is the answer. You can create extra space that works with your lifestyle and blends beautifully with your home and exterior space. Over the years, Spectus products have been used to build some outstanding bespoke structures. We're proud to have played our part and we're delighted with the dedication and brilliance shown by our installer network in their design and construction.

Based on a simple square or rectangular footprint, the Edwardian conservatory offers plenty of usable space. They can be built with either a pitched or gable-ended roof and can incorporate French, sliding or even bi-folding doors. Our Edwardian conservatories are made with the same proven and trusted systems as our windows and doors, so that your whole home can be beautifully finished. There's a choice of bevelled or ovolo-shaped frames and a full choice of colours and decorative glazing. Naturally, you'll want a conservatory that enhances your home and our network of friendly and professional installers will guide you through the whole process.

A P-Shaped conservatory is made by joining a Victorian style to an Edwardian style conservatory. They are ideal for larger properties, or where you may want to use the new space for two different purposes. The faceted end could be used as a dining room, for example, and the return section could be a lounge area or children's playroom. It's possible to adjust the proportions of each section of the "P" to suit your available space and needs. P-Shaped conservatories can be constructed with a single set of doors or two pairs of doors, with a dwarf wall or with full height glazing.

PVC-U is an insulating material. Using multi-chambered systems, thermal-wall technology and thermal inserts, allows us to build windows and doors with excellent insulating and thermal-performance characteristics. In fact, we've made it part of our process to ensure that energy efficiency is always part of our design. Every Spectus product is designed to comply easily with the requirements of the Building Regulations. Window Energy Ratings from 'A+' to 'C' are available, depending upon glazing. Our systems are designed to incorporate either double or triple glazing and when appropriately glazed, our windows can achieve U-values as low as 0.8W/(m2K).

Designed for high-rise or hard-to-reach locations, our Fully Reversible window has proved a hit with the owners of all types of home. The window is hinged at the top, opens outwards for ventilation, and can be rotated so that the outer surface can be cleaned from indoors. The trick is that the window rotates, safely and easily, outside the building, so there are no worries about snagging on curtains or blinds. The Spectus Fully Reversible window uses innovative AEROFRAMETM technology. This copies the multi-cellular structures of nature to produce strong, but lightweight and thermally-efficient frames.

PVC-U residential doors are deceptive. Their lightweight feel hides a robust, strong and secure door with excellent insulating properties. Our PVC-U doors make great front or rear entrances and are tough enough to cope in a busy, family home. Impact-resistant PVC-U is easy to clean and never needs painting: these doors won't rot or swell in damp weather. Steel-reinforced frames provide strength and rigidity and top-quality locking systems keep your home secure. And, with energy-efficient glazing and insulating multi-chambered profiles, your home will be warmer and more economical to run.

Spectus; market leading Vertical Slider combines all the benefits of high performing modern material and functionality with period character and design. Widely recognised as one of the best PVC-U alternatives to traditional timber box sashes our Vertical Sliders combine modern standards of thermal performance and security with an authentic appearance. Approved by planning officers even for use in conservation areas these windows are feature packed. Spectus is a trading name of Specialist Building Products Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Epwin Group Plc.

Our Fully Reversible windows are perfect for medium or high-rise properties, or indeed anywhere where there are access limitations. It combines excellent thermal and weathering performance in an easy to clean and maintain window. It has a 70mm depth frame and an attractive, modern appearance with a deep-bevelled profile. 180o rotation outside the property avoids compromising internal furnishings and the windows feature high-security locking and child-resistant safety catches. Spectus is a trading name of Specialist Building Products Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Epwin Group Plc.

Our triple glazing uses our Elite 70 and Elite 63 systems, avoiding the need for extra stockholding, but uses different beads to accommodate the extra pane. This means that if triple glazing isn't necessary throughout a whole property, it is still possible to have perfectly matched windows and doors. Now triple glazing could be used on a north facing aspect or for windows overlooking a noisy road, while energy-efficient Band 'A' rated double glazing would take advantage of passive solar gain on the southern aspects.

The Government's commitment to the The Kyoto Protocol an international treaty, which extends the 1992 United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) that commits State Parties to reduce greenhouse gases emissions means we all have to do our bit to help. Spectus is a trading name of Specialist Building Products Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Epwin Group Plc.

Tilt & Turn windows are the ultimate in practical design. Their appearance is simple, clean and modern, allowing plenty of natural daylight into your home. Hinged along the base, they tilt inwards for ventilation and if you want to clean the outside glass, simply turn the handle again and the window becomes side-hinged and can open right into your room. They are perfect for high-level or hard-to-reach windows - or for anyone who hates climbing ladders! Tilt & Turns are not only simple to clean, operate and maintain, they are also very secure, with locking all around the frame.
