Trained in architecture and a self taught maker, Mark, and his team of craftsmen, create beautiful, hand made custom furniture and kitchens in their Oxford workshop. With over 20 years experience, Mark will guide you through the process of commissioning a new piece of work. Some customers come to the table with a clear idea of how it will look and perform; others require more guidance. Either way, it is a collaborative process we really enjoy. Through a number of meetings a costed design is developed based on your aesthetic preferences and practical requirements.
As is the process in all our commissions, we spent many hours working with Dominic and Rebecca (and Peter from FC Architects) in the design of their new kitchen. Situated on the lower ground floor, this work marked the completion of many years spent remodeling their five storey Victorian town house into a series of modern, beautiful spaces. Like many contemporary homes, relaxing, cooking, dining and outdoor spaces flow seamlessly from one to another, a hub for all the activities of daily family life.
In partnership with artist Kathryn Hodgkinson, Belle and Bespoke was established at Tent, London in 2012. Mark's love of framing merged with Kathryn's love of objects in the project soundbyte 'your stories, beautifully framed.' These products can be bought on the Belle and Bespoke website here. We also welcome visits to the workshop where stock is kept of most the products shown below. We are regularly asked to put together custom pieces that vary in both size and material so do get in touch if you would like to discuss your project.
