Portus + Whitton are driven by a passion for landscape and garden design. We have been established in the Cotswolds since 1984 and are a Landscape Institute Registered Practice. Our team is made up of two partners who have worked together for over twenty years; John Whitton, Dip LA CMLI, and Martin Portus, BA Dip LA, plus eight Landscape Architects specialising in CAD design, contract administration, garden design, and the research and restoration of historic landscapes. We are a broad-spectrum practice, and believe our strength lies in identifying the essential character and potential of each site.
We consider garden design to be both a stimulating and challenging part of our work, and have developed a consistent level of high quality detailed design and implementation. We can offer all or part of a 6-stage design and contract supervision service covering everything from an initial consultation through development of the design to completion of the final scheme. The first step is for us to meet you at the site, and establish your own aspirations and offer design ideas. This will then be followed up with a written brief and a suggested budget.
