An architectural project is as unique as each client and therefore at Bespoke Architects we like to recognise this and provide flexibility to allow the client to get exactly what they want from the experience without the pressure of feeling that they need to follow a set path in their development journey. It may be that you are toying with the idea of moving house as you want more space but want some independent advice regarding alternative spatial arrangement and whether improving would be better and more cost effective than moving.
As a daughter of an architect it was not a surprise to my friends and family that I took the same path and decided to study Architecture. Although a lengthy course, 3 years Degree and 2 years Diploma, the two courses are separated by a practical year out, giving a welcomed break. My adventures began at Portsmouth Polytechnic, which then became the University of Portsmouth at the end of my degree year, and although they have a more modern building now, designed by the late Sir Colin Stansfield-Smith, our home for the 5 years was split between the 6th floor of late 1970's building and some cold studios in the Chemistry block.
We understand the importance of meeting a company representative before making the decision to engage their services as the building process can be a long one and it is very important that you feel you have a good rapport with your architect. As architects it is important to get a feel for the property in question and note down your thoughts for the development prior to quoting for our services. Typically we would spend an hour with you discussing your thoughts for the project, find out about how you currently use the spaces, your immediate needs and future requirements and your anticipated budget.
The service we provide at Bespoke Architects provides the client with confidence that the project is being lovingly looked after by the architect from start to finish. This allows them to enjoy the architectural journey knowing that all of the elements involved in the building process are being taken care of, thus alleviating unnecessary worry or stress. We understand that embarking on a project, however large or small, can be a daunting experience and so we are here to take the worry away and lead you through the process at a pace that you are comfortable with and protects your investment.
It's been an incredibly busy start to 2016 but I mustn't grumble. The work is interesting, varied and I'm meeting many, many lovely people along the way.
Another successful planning application, with Eastleigh Borough Council. This is a first for me with this Local Authority so very pleased. Awaiting a decision from Mole Valley tomorrow, fingers crossed!
Looking forward to seeing everyone at Scene4Women this evening. Hope you've all had a good day.
