We provide high quality and innovative architectural design, planning and building consultancy services for residential, commercial and agricultural sectors. From home extensions and renovations, new house builds and listed building consent, to bringing forward land for development, large scale residential developments, commercial and industrial building projects. From initial ideas and building designs, through to planning applications and project management. We make the whole process as easy and as cost-effective as possible.
Hughes Architects was founded in 2001 by Doug Hughes, our principal architect and managing director. His objective was to provide a first-class architectural design and planning service, based in Mid Wales. The business soon expanded with architecture, building design and planning commissions throughout Wales and England. From our four offices at Newtown and Welshpool in Powys and Aberystwyth in Ceredigion, we work with clients throughout Wales, the border areas of Shropshire and Herefordshire, the West Midlands, M4 corridor and further afield, including London and Bristol.
Whether a grand design or something more modest, we never forget we're creating, renovating or extending a home. A cherished place to live that needs to be both beautiful and practical. Creating your own home is a unique experience and at Hughes Architects we aim to make the process as enjoyable and hassle-free as possible. As architectural design and planning consultants we also work with landowners to bring forward land for residential development, taking on the whole process from outline and detailed planning design and local authority planning applications, to identifying and securing developers.
At Hughes Architects we are committed to keeping you up to date about plans and planning applications we are invovled in and to invite your comments using our clear and concise public consultation service. This will provide you with all the information you need in order to provide any comments you wish to make on our proposal, including the Planning Application Statement (including Design and Access Statement), scaled drawings and any survey information. Housing developments of 10 or more dwellings or where the site area is of 0.5 hectares or more (if the number of dwellings is not known).
