We always bring our creativity and design skills to this process in order to produce a bespoke product; beautifully tailored and pragmatically designed to the Client's individual brief. Our design skills are complemented in equal measure with effective management expertise. We draw experts together to form effective teams, pulling together for the common cause; projects delivered on program and budget. We have always aimed to provide a service rather in excess of what is normally expected of architects, and this has resulted in the majority of our projects being from clients with whom we have worked before.
It is with great pleasure that we can now announce the next stage in the development of our practice. For the last 18 months, we have been working in collaboration with another practice, Morse Webb, with Dominic Morse and Peter Webb becoming directors of Gotelee Orchard-Lisle Limited. Morse Webb have a similar background of producing high quality design and buildings, and in particular have a complementary client base within the independent education sector. With this collaboration, we now benefit from the additional expertise and enthusiasm of Morse Webb, a younger dynamic practice, and the combined workforce includes eleven architects plus further technical and administrative staff.
There is a great deal of discussion around climate change and its causes; whether it is man-made or not. We prefer to take ourselves outside what is, sometimes, a heated debate, in order to gain a little clarity. The issue is simple - why waste a finite and valuable resource? With energy costs rising and likely to continue to become a greater percentage of an organisation's overhead (be that in running costs, transport or embodied energy in the building materials), the case to place energy efficiency, energy security and sustainability at the heart of any design is clear.
Our long standing reputation and focus designing buildings sets us apart from other architectural practices. We seek always to understand the individual client's ethos and style and, in particular, are experienced working within Conservation Areas, Historic Landscapes and with Listed Buildings and the sensitive approach to architectural design this entails. The varied nature of our clients means we take a diverse, creative and individual approach to design. Whether bold contemporary or quietly traditional, there is never a pre-determined style or solution.
