Founded in year 2000, State of Design is a Cambridge based RIBA architecture practice operating in Cambridge area and London. Over the years we have perfected flexibility so that in addittion to our design skills, we can offer our Clients efficiency and cost effectiveness that is hard to match wherever their projects are based. Our ultimate aim is to produce daring and innovative architecture that takes advantage of the latest technological advances yet it is very personal and respectful towards for the environment.
Our private/individual residential work is largely based in the Cambridge area and London and covers projects ranging from complete refurbishments, basement, ground and loft extensions, one-off buildings all the way to barn conversions. Much of our work is in conservation areas, whether in the city centre or in the middle of the countryside. We are used to and love working with very constrained and sensitive sites. Our work often involves delicate negotiations with planning authorities and the neighbours and we have an excellent track record in obtaining planning consents.
