Halliday Clark is a national architectural practice based in Ilkley, West Yorkshire. Formed by David Halliday and Adam Clark in 1993, the practice has grown to deliver high quality Architectural, Interior Design, Masterplanning and Product Design services, covering a vast range of project types, including residential, educational, commercial and cultural buildings across the UK. We are driven by a distinct set of values, combining traditional Architectural training with the latest modern technology to create well detailed, practical buildings and spaces.
Individual homes can involve extensive re-models and extensions to existing buildings or, more commonly, new build homes. Ultimately, they are for one client who will be the end user. Our designs are guided by thorough research, listening to Clients' specific needs and aspirations, and are thoughtfully well executed to the highest quality. We can protect the client's vision throughout the process and see it through to fruition. We invest more time in client meetings so that our design reflects the personality of our clients and compliments the way they live or want to live.
This sector covers a wide variety of buildings, including but not limited to offices, showrooms, and shops. We have strong experience in the commercial office and retail sector, having completed many award winning, new build and refurbishment schemes. In parallel we have been involved in many art and leisure projects, which have an element of commercial use be it for administration accommodation, front of house hospitality and retail use. Our understanding of the technical aspects of servicing, accessing and arranging shell commercial spaces, within an historic fabric or new build situation, allows us to stretch concepts to new levels, exploring materials, lighting and spatial arrangements to the maximum with the technical know-how to physically create these ideas on the ground.
As an Architectural practice, chartered by the Royal Institute of British Architects, our services and activities are based around the work stages outlined within the current RIBA Plan of Work document which has evolved over the last 50 years. We find this helpful as a simple framework to explain to Clients what we can provide and how the services interlink to create a complete Architectural and Design service for assessing the viability of a project through to its completion on site. Hopefully you'll find this section of the website informative, but if you do have any questions, do not hesitate to contact us to discuss your personal needs in more detail.

Here is a sneak peek of the plans which were put forward to transform a former Methodist church in #Rotherham into Grimm & Co.'s new 'apothecary for the magical'.
Great to see work progressing on site at Old Lane, #Hawksworth. The addition of 2 two storey glazed links will connect the original house and garage, with a further 2 storey extension to the garage to provide additional accommodation.
We're thrilled to be working on this fantastic project, helping magical children's charity Grimm & Co. reach even more children across the North.
In case you missed it, our work on the new extension and renovations at All Saints Ilkley was recently profiled by Architects' Journal. More on the sensitive update of the Grade II listed building.
