MPS Construction were proud to undertake the construction of this two storey extension to a rural Derbyshire farmhouse. The stone build extension was given a contemporary appearance through the installation of a frameless ridge roof light, exposed structural flitch beams, dinesen timber panelling and steel and glass staircase. Due to the high level of finish we were required to work to exacting tolerances throughout the build.

The extension includes a new classroom, SEN room, a new library and an extension to the hall as well as ancillary accommodation. The existing building was reconfigured to provide an enlarged multi-use community space. The design is constructed of natural materials such as timber shakes and straw bale insulation as well as reclaimed materials. The design incorporates a 'habitat wall' on the east elevation. This is made up of a range of reclaimed materials and was designed to promote biodiversity by providing planting pockets, nesting boxes and bug habitats.
