WEMCO currently have a vacancy for a Combustion Engineer predominantly working in South West England. This role will suit a Field / Mobile Service Engineer with previous experience within the Commercial Gas sector. Legislation & Compliance Refcom was originally established in 1994 in response to atmospheric damage caused by certain refrigerant gases and fluorinated gases which if released into the atmosphere have a global warming potential higher than CO2. Carrying out routine planned preventative maintenance (PPM) work ensures that a system and its equipment is kept in good working order and optimises its efficiency. The aim of preventative maintenance is to reduce the possibility of equipment failure before it occurs; replacing worn components before they fail. Heatpump systems are very simple to maintain but we recommend a regular service by an authorised contractor, due to the use of controlled refrigerant gases. We undertake maintenance and service contracts for equipment of all manufactures and models of heat pumps irrespective of age or who originally installed them.

A gas safety check involves a Gas Safe registered engineer inspecting your gas appliances. The check will identify any defects which require remedial work. You should have a gas safety check every year otherwise you are putting your employees at risk and in possible danger from carbon monoxide poisoning. After our gas engineers have carried out any work to a gas appliance, whether it be servicing or inspecting, we always leave a detailed gas report with our clients which lists the combustion readings of all the gas appliances tested, details of whether the appliance is working safely and meets the current standards.

Gas Safe Register is the official gas registration body (replacing CORGI in April 2009) for the UK appointed by the Health & Safety Executive. By law it is a requirement that all gas engineers are on the Gas Safe Register. The Gas Safe Register focuses on improving and maintaining gas safety to the highest standards, making sure all registered gas engineers are qualified to work safely and legally on boilers, cookers, fires and other gas appliances. If you are having gas work done in your home or in your workplace, you should only use a Gas Safe Registered engineer and business.

The panels are subject to the vagaries of the weather elements and expansion and contraction from the inherent heating and cooling cycles.
