You may not be aware but customers who install renewable energy heating by replacing an existing system with an Air Source Heat Pump could receive payments under the government Renewable Heat Initiative (RHI) payment scheme. On 12th July 2013, the Government confirmed that the Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) will launch in Spring 2014. The RHI will work in a similar way to the Feed-In Tariff for Solar PV and will pay owners of air source heat pumps 10.71p per kilowatt-hour of renewable heat generated by their heat pump.
