Artisan Timber & Flooring Ltd were established in February 2002 by Andy Walker to service the growing wood floor installation market. Starting with a desk at home the company has grown to include a dedicated wood floor showroom with over 200 large display boards together with a warehouse and a small team of full time staff, two of whom are family members. Nothing beats an authentic wood floor and that's why we supply a large range of wood floor brands which are known for their quality and character. Engineered flooring has a ply base and a solid wood veneer on top which is usually 4-6mm. This gives the added benefit of stability, value for money and similar product lifes to solid flooring. Solid flooring is as the name says is solid wood throughout. Solid wood has the appeal of being 100% natural but is more sensitive to moisture and temperature, acting as a sponge.

Skirting and architrave can really complement your new (or old) flooring. Skirting also hides any expansion gaps between the flooring and the walls. Skirting is typically delivered unfinished, which leaves you the option to apply your own choice of coloured oil or stain to fit in with your specific room. Certain profiles are available pre-finished. Most skirting is machined in 2.4m lengths. The most common sizes of skirting are 20 x 95mm / 20 x 145mm / 20 x 195mm but any size can be milled to your specification.
