Steven is a full time furniture designer maker, clock maker based out of his studio workshop in the beautiful Forest of Bowland, Ribble Valley, Lancashire. Steven professionally trained as a designer maker at a leading furniture workshop in Staveley, Cumbria. Steven's inspiration as a furniture maker comes from a variety of sources; including classic architecture, famous designers and abstract artists. Steven makes work of his own contemporary style but will also match the design to be sympathetic with the style of a client's house or environment such as arts and crafts, art nouveau etc. Steven likes to push the boundaries of modern design and making techniques using the very best of solid and veneered wood mixed with other materials such as metal and glass.
It is a far cry from when Mr Simman Febland established the company in 1952 and setting out his stall in the 1953 Harrogate Gift Fair, to the 15 annual exhibitions now participated in by the company. In recent years we have developed our designer furniture arm, enabling us to tailor make the look you desire and change rooms dramatically with a vast choice of wood finishes, textures and fabrics. The company has built three extra warehouses in the past 3 years and is expanding on the success of its metal lighting and furniture ranges in bronze and brushed silver.
