Do your skirting boards have "mouse moulding" fitted? This is a bead of wood, fitted to older properties, to cover gaps between the skirting and the floorboards. Carpets were traditionally turned and tacked to the moulding however if you wish a smooth edge finish it would be advisable to remove the moulding and fill any gaps with decorators caulk prior to painting. This will enable us to fit carpet gripper to ensure the smooth edge look.
