RGE supply a wide range of fire alarm services for public sector & commercial clients. We offer a prompt and high quality service. The testing of emergency lighting is crucially important to the safety of a building's occupants, and helps us to ensure that the emergency lighting will remain fully operational at all times. The procedures for testing installed systems are regulated in order to enable a safe exit if an emergency occurs. We constantly make it known to our clients that although there are standard regulatory recommendations for types and durations of emergency lighting systems, they should remember that these are minimum safe standards and a higher standard may be necessary to meet the particular uses of the building and the client's business.

We have widespread experience in providing an efficient installation service to a diverse client group. We design emergency lighting that automatically operates fully when the main power supply fails. Our emergency lighting gives illumination of a highly sufficient level to enable people of all abilities to safely evacuate the premises. We work closely with clients to develop a maintenance and training plan to minimize the risks should an emergency occur. This can be achieved through regular maintenance, together with simulated power failures ensuring equipment is properly tested and maintained.

Controlling access to buildings, offices and production areas is becoming increasingly important. RGE provide a broad range of door access & entry systems ranging from the simple one way telephone entry, to network or concierge controlled entrance systems. Systems can also be incorporated with a PC based system which allows the user to print reports and control who can access the property or organisation. It can automatically perform security tasks such as locking and unlocking doors, and can be fully integrated into any new or existing security system.

A contract secured in 2019 to carry out the installation of a new emergency lighting system at 1-124 Tiverton House, Exeter Road, EN3 7TW as part of the Council's Fire Safety improvement programme. The property a 13-storey residential building constructed in the 1960's and located within a predominantly residential area with local retail amenities suffered from ongoing problems as a result of the degradation of the existing aged system. The objective of the project was to provide an emergency lighting system that complied with current British Standards BS5266-1:2016, improved energy efficiency and gave re-assurance to the tenants of the building.
