A periodic inspection report is a legal requirement to be carried out at least once every 5 years on electrical systems within domestic premises, commercial properties and on industrial establishments to determine whether the installations are in a satisfactory or un-satisfactory condition. A test that simulates power failure or when normal electrical illumination fails, but still provides sufficient illumination in the event of an evacuation. This test is carried out annually but recommended to be carried out six monthly at intervals of 3 hour and 1 hour to determine if the lights are functional, non-functional or if they last the time specified.
