Portable Appliance Testing is the Visual and Electrical test of electrical portable appliances. The Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 puts the duty of care upon both the employer and the employee to ensure the safety of all persons using the work place. To satisfy insurers that reasonable care has been taken in the maintenence of your electrical equipment. All of our testing is carried out with the customer in mind. Whilst the testing must be carried out, it can be done in a sympathetic manner to minimise disruption to staff and production.
To achieve this we create a logbook that lists all of the emegency lights and/or smoke detectors. Periodic testing can then be carried out using the appropriate test equipment and to the latest standards (BS 5266 for Emegency Lights and BS5839 for Smoke Detectors). Results of the tests are then entered into the logbook, which over time gives you a history of test results. This can be useful in determining the reliability and life expectancy of your equipment.
