Our garden centre is built on the foundations of being expert growers and horticulturalists. We feed the centre with home grown plants, shrubs & trees from our two nurseries which set the high standards for the rest of our centre. Whether you need to get busy in the garden or be inspired by the world of home & gift we're happy to assist in whatever project you wish to start next. We are incredibly excited to announce that we will become stockists of the Kamado Joe range in early 2021! We felt that the Kamado Joe grills are the ultimate companion in outdoor cooking and will offer endless versatility for you.
Here at Smith's we have been growers and horticulturalists for nearly 80 years. In that time we have now progressed in to our 4th generation of the Smith family since starting with the company, E.W. Smith & Son, owned by Eric Smith (1st Generation) and Pete Smith (2nd Generation). Our nurseries are split in to two with annual bedding production on one side of the garden centre and hardy plant production on the other. Our two nurseries ran by Ade and Matt feed the garden centre with incredible, British, homegrown stock.
I would like to say a huge thank you to Smiths garden centre, and in particular to the owner, who was very gracious today when I realised I had got there and had forgotten my purse. He told me to take the plants and 'come back one day in the week' to settle up. Thank you for this kind gesture, and for trusting that I will be back to pay. This is something you would never get in big stores like B&Q. Service like this goes a very long way.
We visited for the first time yesterday 3/12/17. We brought our girls to see Santa and have a walk around. The staff were kind and friendly. The girls loved the activities and the owls and reindeer. Santa was very friendly and we were given the choice of some lovely presents to take home.
Went today it was so lovely a gem to find Santa was absolutely the real santa he was lovely even getting my granddaughter to talk Mrs clause was delightful the elves were so friendly Free face painting meeting twinkle the reindeer Free mulled wine and mince pics (we missed those) but All this for 5 and choose your own gift All the staff are a credit to you Everyone is so friendly We will definitely be returning now we have found this hidden gem of a garden centre
If the weather is kind to us, you will need to tidy up and cut back alpines and prune your roses in order to maintain their healthy growth and compact shape ready for the growing season.
