Most businesses today use portable electrical appliances in some way so it's important they're regularly checked and inspected. PAT Testing is a series of tests and inspections that determine whether a portable appliance is safe to use and fit for purpose. This is vital to the safety of your people and your premises. Everyday wear and tear can lead to damage and the risk of fire or electrical shocks, so it's crucial all electrical equipment is checked. If you have people using portable electrical equipment on-site or at home, you're responsible for checking the appliance to ensure the safety of your employees.
When it comes to Fire Safety, many business owners' first stop is to install a fire alarm system. So far, so good. To comply with government legislation, every commercial premises is legally required to carry out Fire Alarm Maintenance at least twice a year, to ensure the system is working as it should. Regular fire alarm maintenance not only gives you confidence that your alarms offer effective fire safety, but it prevents false fire alarms - which can result in unnecessary and costly callouts by the fire brigade, too.
