Peter Lanyon heads up a small team of highly skilled and experienced green wood furniture makers. From our south Devon base, we hand-craft stunning lamps, tables, chairs and desks using a 'slow' and sustainable methodology that relies on low energy and simple technology - a refreshing change to otherwise fast-paced, mass-produced furniture. We regularly exhibit work in London and across the UK. Peter is available for commissions, and runs popular woodworking courses at his workshop - just a short stroll from the stunning south Devon coastline.
Peter runs amazing courses that I can't recommend highly enough. I've completed 5 courses; The Introduction course, The Chair course, The Table course, tool sharpening and how to build your own shave horse, all of which I've really enjoyed and now a little addicted to green wood work and collecting the tools to create pieces at home. I'd urge anyone that's considering giving it a go to do so. I love all the pieces that Peter has helped me produce and never thought I would own such a beautiful dining table! Thanks Peter!
have just completed the introduction to Greenwood carpentry and I have to say I'm hooked! Peter's calm and friendly tutoring made learning great fun. I've come away from this course with skills and knowledge I never thought I'd have and a beautiful piece of furniture to boot! can't recommend this course highly enough! will most definitely be attending Peter's other courses too. thank you Peter!
I have just attended a two day "Introduction to Green sod working". Two days in a beautiful spot and returned home with a beautiful and unique small table. Great teaching and company and cake! Highly recommended. Tony Baker

Drilling out the backs for my #salixchair poses a number of problems as it is curved and twisted. In the past I have drilled them free hand by means of angles and sight lines which is very time-consuming and frankly terrifying. Pictures 3 to 7 show the new process for nerdy people like me who want.
I've just finished this small set of No4 shelves in steam bent ash, and cherry from the nearby Burrator Reservoir. These were missing off the website for a while - an oversight not a choice, though they are a fair bit more fiddly than the medium and large sizes. They are great for small.
