I opened The Homemakers 30 years ago, with the idea to create a friendly, helpful atmosphere, where customers could browse for as long as they wished and feel free to ask for design ideas. Having a showroom is important, not only for the display of current stock but also to have a base from which to take delivery of customers' fabrics, poles, tracks, and upholstery etc. The showroom visit is important to establish that vital first meeting and for customers to be able to view not only the extensive range of fabrics but to observe at close proximity, examples of made up curtains, pelmets and blinds in a variety of patterns and designs.
