The Curtain House

The Curtain House focuses on the creation of beautiful hand sewn curtains and blinds that will transform any room. I offer a complete, no pressure service starting from discussion on design through to fabric selection, making and professional fitting. I work on the basis of a free, no obligation consultation. My projects have included commercial as well as residential premises. Working with the client, together we can develop ideas of how the window dressing may look. A visit can be helpful in this respect so that wide a choice of options may be considered, The look can be traditional or contemporary.

I spent 4 years living in the south-west of France where I developed my curtain making business. To begin with, my clients were a mixture of both French and English, mainly in the Hautes-Pyrenees region of France. My interest in sewing started at 10 years old when my mother taught me to sew on an old Bernina sewing machine. This early interest developed into making simple clothes and more elaborate designs including the odd wedding dress! Over the years this gravitated to interior design and then window treatments in particular.
