A small, professional business, focusing on giving a bespoke service to meet our customers' exact requirements. We love being on Sindles Farm - it's a great location with plenty of parking, peaceful surroundings and lambs in the springtime! There are 4 of us and, between us, we have been making curtains for over 30 years, so we have plenty of experience. Come and visit us in our new unit. March has arrived, and seems to have bought some sun with it. There's still a cold wind (and plenty of mud!), but a hint that the winter is finally coming to an end. We often find that we enter a busy period between March and May, with customers having a Spring clean, freshening up soft furnishings and looking for brighter colours for curtains, blinds and cushions. Our lead time is certainly starting to stretch out a bit, but we have the flexibility to offer overtime hours if a customer still needs to hit a certain deadline, so don't worry if you think you might have left things too late - it's still worth giving us a call, or popping in, and we will see what we can achieve.
We have some beautiful fabrics for you to choose from and we can make for you a wide range of soft furnishings all hand stitched and finished to a high standard. Curtains and Roman blinds of course, but also valances, upholstered board pelmets, cushion covers, tie backs, bed valances and throws, table cloths plus we also carry out alterations. We can also supply a great range of Roller blinds, Venetian blinds, Wood slat Venetians, Vertaical blinds and pleated blinds. In addition to this we supply loads of different curtain poles and tracks and can fit them for you if you wish.
All of our curtains and blinds are carefully made to a very high standard in the workroom. Everything is hand made, we offer all styles of headings, and we pay great attention to detail. Our fabric showroom gives you the opportunity to choose from a wide range of beautiful fabrics from leading suppliers, such as: Villa Nova, Romo, James Hare Silk, Prestigious Textiles, Blendworth, Wilman Interiors, Vanessa Arbuthnott, Clarke & Clarke, Design Forum, Ashley Wilde, Kobe and more. It is a really relaxing and informal setting for you to spend as long as it takes with a cup of coffee at hand but no pressure!
I think I'm getting too old to start leaning about new technology these days, but I feel that my brain cells have been pushed to their limit this past week! Having been visited by one of our suppliers, Evans Textiles, about 6 months ago, demonstrating tracks compatible with downloadable apps and voice activated systems, I never thought it would catch on with our customer base. But, I was wrong! And, this week, I've been on a steep learning curve about hubs bridging the gaps between the internet and battery-operated roman blind tracks, so that you can just sit back, relax with your feet up and ask one of the available home systems to operate your roman blinds for you.
It's a year since we first introduced Barney to the workroom. He's a bit bigger now, but loves looking at everything through the windows in our new unit. And he loves Thursday mornings when Iona does her cake rounds and brings him a biscuit!
Beautiful sunset on Sindles Farm tonight. We are back open for business until 18 December. There are some great Black Friday deals on Clarke & Clarke / Studio G fabrics if you'd like to book an appointment.
Love is. a new dog bed! Sorry we have been absent for so long, promise to post more photos soon. We have been very steady since returning in June and have had some interesting new projects. Just taken some time to adapt to the new way of working.
Even more ready now! Taking a much needed break now before we start back to work. 606 scrubs delivered, 15.5k raised (and more than 50% of that left to donate to St Richards), and we have moved to new premises. Looking towards a brighter future. Onwards and upwards! Sian
We are delighted to say that Sian Peckham and I will be re-opening the business w/c 29 June in our new unit on Sindles Farm (we have swapped with the artworks studio). We will be operating via telephone and video appointments to start with and, once we are back up to speed, the rest of the team will.
