In response to many customer's questions regarding adding solar panels on their roof to generate electricity, this page is designed to give some guidance as to the main points to look for when selecting such a system. Thanks to the government backed feed in tariff such a system will now pay back any investment within 8 years, leaving the remainder of the 25 years seeing you make enough profit to pay for all your energy needs. The yield from the panels to be installed - just a small increase in the yield from the panel (even 0.5%) can make a huge difference in terms of money back over the 25 year feed in tariff scheme.
In response to many customer's questions regarding the safety of electrical installations in their homes, this page is designed to give you some guidance as to the main things to look for regarding electrical safety with regard to fires and fire risk. If after reading the following information you feel that you may have a safety issue in your home, then I would be pleased to advise and quote on any action required. This is a common cause of household fires, the problem is not necessarily overloading of the internal wiring of the house but the fact that the adaptor and/or plugs are slightly loose in their sockets, this can lead to arcing and subsequent fire.
Richard is a lovely guy and provides an excellent service. Punctual and reliable. He's done all sorts at our place. installed electric heating, extra light fittings and a new electric switch board. He also installed new electric points for lighting in the kitchen and a new isolator switch for the oven.
In line with the latest announcements from the Scottish Government I am no longer permitted to do any non-essential work. This week I've been fitting out some barns with LED lighting and sockets, big change as they were unlit before.
With the publicity regarding Scottish Government changes to smoke alarms legislation I've been putting in a lot of new interlinked detectors. Implementation date for the new law has been postponed for a year but it's still very worthwhile upgrading detectors that are past their replace by date in.
