This inviting rooftop space was designed for family and business entertainment, to enhance good views (and obscure the less enjoyable ones) and the al fresco experience, and provide a putting area for recreation. We undertook this sensitive build with minimal disruption to the businesses within the commercial courtyard that provides access to the residential properties. Careful liaison with these businesses was needed, during demolition and for deliveries. Pre-scheduled furniture hoist lifts were carefully sequenced when transferring large items.

This project entailed complex and intensive works to create this inviting and relaxing outdoor space in St. John's Wood. The garden area had to be extensively cleared and excavated, with the lawn fully drained to improve the 'soggy' condition of the garden, as per client's request, to accommodate a formal lawn. We also built new retaining walls, installed paving, trellising, lighting and irrigation and constructed steps although the left-hand boundary wall was previously rebuilt by another contractor.

An elegant front and rear garden with contemporary touches to complement a lovely suburban period property in Hampstead. The design combines an attractive asymmetrical design and sleek, strong lines with structured and naturalistic planting. The larger front garden offers a number of stimulating walkways that lead to the various entrance and exit points. The entrance gate was repositioned to maximise visual impact of the front garden. The rear garden, meanwhile, is designed to provide striking views of the long, narrow pool and onto the expanse of Hampstead Heath.

This contemporary city garden was designed to provide the client with an enjoyable outdoor space for relaxation and summer living, mostly for evening use. A clever lighting scheme was thus required for this purpose. The materials used likewise needed to complement those of the interiors and must be of comparable high quality. The bright and reflective surface of the side walls was achieved by rendering to a smooth finish and painting. The walls were also raised 500 mm in height and topped with horizontal cedar slatted panels for more privacy and security.
