We were established in 2010 by apprentice trained Electrician Robert Wilmot. A Sole Trader at the time he was Inspired by a Property Developer client, keen to reduce Energy costs. Robert became one of the first MCS accredited Solar PV installers in the Leeds area. Always focused on honesty, integrity and quality of install and working with long standing roofing partners PJ Hoban we now have experience working on a range of rooftops. Despite the rise and fall of the UK Solar subsidies we have continued to invest in training - embracing other technologies and believing in the future of Renewable Energy.

Our customer had installed Solar panels in 2011 and wanted to utilise more of their surplus Energy. We installed a 16kW Daikin Altherma Heat Pump for space heating via Dimplex "smart" radiators. For hot water we indroduced Thermodynamics to heat a 250L cylinder - 24/7 365 days a year. Some of the running costs for the Heat Pump were offset by the existing Solar array and RHI subsidies meant the system would pay for itself within 6 years.

They work from light (irradiance) and not just direct sunlight. The PV panels are wired to an Inverter which converts the generated electricity from Direct Current (DC) into usable Alternating Current (AC) for use in your home. The Inverter (AC) output is connected to the electrics in your home via your existing consumer unit. This in turn exports any surplus electricity back to the National Grid system. At the heart of a solar PV system are photovoltaic cells; devices which convert light into an electric current.

Our solar installation by Solec was absolutely first rate. Excellent fast & efficient service with an accurate & clear quotation process, and they managed to get it all installed well before the deadline. Communication throughout was excellent. I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Solec and am very happily now watching my KwH's rack up on the meter!

Can provide up to 80% of your heating and or hot water requirements all year round by extracting energy from the land or outside air. They do run on electricity but for 1kW of electrical input the output thermal energy is up to 5kW. In comparison a traditional fossil fuel boiler is less efficient typically giving you 1kW output for 1kW input. In most cases you can also cover your costs through the Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) over 7 years - there's not many home improvements that pay for themselves!

Whilst Solar PV is generally considered "Fit & Forget" technology we have invested in a Seagate Solar PV Tester and a Flir Thermal Imaging camera so we can be proactive going forward to help our customers maintain their arrays as they age. We were spending over 3000 a year on Oil and switched (to be more environmentally friendly) to an Air Source Heat Pump. We off set the cost of running the Heat Pump with Solar PV. It's early days to see how much we are saving but we are earning over 1000 a year in incentives and we are on the lower FiT rate for our Solar due to the age of the property.
